Four Deaths in Shenzhen Construction Site Accident

An accident causing four deaths happened on 7 August at a construction site in Shenzhen. The cause of their deaths is believed to be lack of oxygen.

According to the Longgang District Work Safety Bureau in Shenzhen, the accident happened on 7 August at 8:30 am, at Yan Pai Highway the 7th section where the construction work is done by the China Railway Construction Corporation 15th Engineering Bureau. A hole of 18.2m depth and 1.5m wide was driven by the construction pile, when four welding workers fell in. Their bodies were retrieved from the hole in the afternoon.

The government officials of Shenzhen and other departments went to instruct the rescue and follow-up. They are investigating the cause of the accident.
